Christina Vogt -- Director

Christina Vogt has a background in computing and held the position of Senior Manager of Corporate connectivity reporting to a senior vice president in a subsidiary of Lockheed before leaving the computing industry to pursue her interests in travel and feminism. Later she became the outreach director for a domestic violence program and created one of the most successful outreach programs for domestic violence in Southern California. After living in India for three years she returned to the US to pursue her doctorate. She has presented at several conferences and her research interests include global education, multicultural and ethnocentric education, technology in education, women in education with emphasis in cognitive and affective factors for women in pursuing studies that are heavily male dominated.

Peiying Chen -- Director of Research

Peiying is a native of Taiwan and has been involved in educational sociology and gender studies for many years. She is working for the well-known Dr. Nelly Stromquist gathering resources for women's literacy and international grassroots educational efforts. She has presented three papers at CIES. Last year, she presented at UNESCO and is interested in women’s struggles in Asia. Also, last year, she was involved in an international forum for discussing education and equity for women worldwide. This online forum was initiated by WomenWatch for mid-term evaluation following up 1995 Beijing Women’s Conference. The discussion was organized by Dr. Nelly Stromquist and Peiying helped Dr. Stromquist to analyze the responses written by participants from Asia. The analysis was also presented at the CIES conference in March 2000. Peiying is currently the director of research for GenderWatchers.

Faith I. Womack -- Government Advisor

Faith Womack is currently an Ed.D. Candidate in Education Leadership at USC. Faith has been a career employee for the federal government in education, public affairs and research and development in the behavioral sciences. Currently she works at the Los Angeles Air Force Base Education Center as the education program manager, her area of responsibility includes the budget, advertising, computer programs, and education and career enhancement programs for officers, enlisted and civilian employees. Faith is a certified facilitator at the Space and Missile Systems Center. She led a Roundtable discussion on at the Spring 2000 Department of Defense Education Symposium. Faith resides in the Los Angeles area and is a member of the Manhattan Beach American Association of University Women, and the Los Angeles Finlandia Foundation.
